#mortalkombat Lord Raiden (Lambert) handpicks three martial artists - law enforcement agent Sonya Blade (Bridgette Wilson), Lui Kang (Robin Shou) and action movie hotshot Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby) and after intense training, Raiden transports the trio to Outworld, the site of an inter-dimensional deadly fighting tournament. There, the three humans must defeat the warriors of the evil Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) - or allow Tsung to take over the Earth.

Mortal Kombat premiered in the United States on August 18, 1995. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the martial art sequences, atmosphere, performances and production values, but criticized the toned-down violence from the games. Despite the mixed critical response, the film was well received by fans of the series, and the film became a Gen X 'klassic'.

#lindenashby is an Emmy nominated actor who has made a name for himself in television in shows such as Sheriff Noah Stilinski on Teen Wolf (2011–2017), Brett Cooper on Melrose Place (1997–1999), and Cameron Kirsten on The Young and the Restless (2003–2004).

During the #interview, Ashby discusses what he remembers about the project, how he created the cocky character of Johnny despite having anxiety in real life, the injuries he got on set, and the staying power of the film.
