The Enxaimel Route is the largest collection of houses outside Europe built using the Enxaimel technique and brought by German immigrants. There are about 50 houses along a 16-kilometer stretch of the route, which has been designated a protected landscape area by the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN). In the truss technique, the wooden structures are built without nails and screws, only with fittings.
