Only 20 percent of the Lotte Marts in that country are operational.
According to Korean retail giant, as of Saturday, more than sixty of their stores were hit with suspension orders for violating the Chinese government's fire safety inspections.
A dozen other chains closed voluntarily.
Industry sources say if these seventy-nine stores are forced to shut down for a month, Lotte Mart could suffer losses of around 80 million U.S. dollars.
Since agreeing to provide the land to host the anti-missile battery, which Beijing perceives as a threat to its national security, Lotte has had to bare the brunt of the Chinese government's backlash.
