A 100 second clip showing an adult male, Great Spotted woodpecker beginning to tease it's young out of the nest. This bird moves so fast , the clip had to be shot at 150 fps to highlight the woodpecker's intricate movement and agility.
Part of an upcoming film about the wildlife in a beautiful forest near where I live. I had tracked this woodpecker for at least 6 months until he found a mate last February. The chicks should leave maybe in another few days - an indicator is when their red tuft on the forehead becomes more prominent.
