Hello everyone, today we will show our HFP model hybrid inverter, Lithium battery BMS communication protocol setting. There are 6 protocol options in our HFP model, if you want to change the BMS communication protocol setting.
1. Accessing the BMS Communication Settings
The HFP model inverter supports six BMS communication protocols. To change the protocol:
Press the ENTER button.
Navigate to Page A17 on the display.
By default, the system is set to PB mode (Lead-acid battery mode).
2. Understanding the BMS Protocol Options
Here are the available BMS protocol options:
PB – Lead-acid battery mode (default)
GRD – Growatt communication protocol
VLO – Voltronic communication protocol
PYL – Pylon communication protocol
PAC – PACE communication protocol
PYL (another Pylon communication protocol, as there are two Pylon options)
Now, let's change the protocol to GFD as an example:
Select GFD using the Up/Down buttons.
Press ENTER to confirm.
3. Troubleshooting Communication Errors
If the display shows Error 63, it means the inverter failed to communicate with the lithium battery.
To fix this:
Ensure a data cable is properly connected between the lithium battery and the inverter’s RS485 BMS port.
Once connected, the Error 63 message should disappear, indicating successful communication.
