Who knew a lockdown hobby would end up shaping my entire perspective as a student?
For this course reflection, I wanted to share how starting a fish tank during the pandemic taught me the basics of ecosystem sensitivity before I even stepped into a lab. In this video, I connect those lessons to my current studies in Biochemistry—specifically how invisible chemical changes and bioaccumulation affect us just as much as they affect my fish.
I also break down our mini-project, "Do Something," where we launched an Instagram page to bridge the gap between complex environmental science and the public. It was a huge learning curve in figuring out how to turn "sad news" into actionable advice.
