Marvi Sirmed is a Pakistani political analyst, journalist, human rights activist, and Social Democrat.
Marvi Sirmed was born on June 11, 1970, in Sialkot, Pakistan. Her ancestral family is from Bahawalpur and her family was engaged in agriculture. Marvi Sirmed's father Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq was the Director-General of Public Relations Punjab till 2003. As a child, she accompanied her mother to the women's protests.
Prior to entering the career of education and journalism, she was a student of Pre-Med and obtained a Master's degree in Science and Education from Punjab University.
Marvi Sirmed received the Government of Pakistan's National Human Rights Award in 2010 and the Friend of the Parliament Award in 2012. Marvi Sirmed was a member of the Executive Council of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
