Rounding South West Cape fills you with an understanding of how Christopher Columbus's crew felt like when sailing west to the edge of the world. Nothing between you and Antarctica except a restless and vast ocean. We take short excursions from various west coast places such as Sundown Point and travel down rivers to the sea. Trips out to Maatsuyker Island show what sea kayaking is all about and a three week trip from Strahan to Cockle Creek, visiting Bathurst Harbour, Port Davey and the sea caves on Flat Top Island are a must see. De Witt Island with its humongous blowhole and threading the Needles out at Maatsuyker Island are spectacular even though the video camera technology at the time leaves something to be desired, maybe next time in 4K. You will meet some interesting characters like Toby Clark with his famous"its as easy as pissing on your hand".
