The term "Game Feel" is often used when trying to describe our enjoyment of a game. In the next two videos, I'm going to look at what we mean when we say a game "Feels good", starting by looking at the controls.
I'm not able to describe in great detail how Shigeru Miyamoto was able to create the plumber we all know and love, instead, I'm going to look at four main tenants of movement, the effects they have on Mario games, and compare the approach to other games and detail the respective impacts.
Can anyone guess what part 2 will be about?
