Third episode of my Total War Rome II Legendary Difficulty campaign playing as Bactria. In this episode, I shift my entire strategy after securing peace with Parthia and turning southeast to face Drangiana, proving that in Rome 2, quality often beats quantity.
With Diodotos II coming of age, I raise a new elite army featuring Armored Indian Elephants, pikemen, Persian Light Archers, Bactrian Horse Archers, Bactrian Peltasts, and supporting citizen cavalry. After expanding through Kapisene and Alexandria Arachosia, I take a major risk by attacking Phrada with a single army against a full enemy stack plus the city garrison.
Despite being outnumbered — and with several moments where the battle nearly collapses — superior unit quality, positioning, and timing secure a hard-fought victory on legendary difficulty.
