WWE Cyber Sunday 2007: Batista vs The Undertaker (SmackDown vs RAW 2009)

Описание: Throughout the first half of 2007, Batista and The Undertaker were involved in a bitter rivalry over the World Heavyweight Championship. Their first match took place at WrestleMania 23, and on that night The Undertaker defeated Batista to win the gold. At Backlash the following month, the two powerhouses fought to a draw in a Last Man Standing match, and then had another draw inside of a steel cage on SmackDown.

On the same night that Batista and The Undertaker fought in the steel cage match, Edge chose to cash-in the Money in the Bank briefcase he had won from Mr. Kennedy. Taking advantage of a battered and beaten Undertaker, the Rated-R superstar won his third world championship in WWE. The Deadman had to take time off for an injury after this contest, allowing Batista to unsuccessfully fight Edge for the belt over the next several months.

Like The Undertaker, Edge also suffered an injury, this one being severe enough that he had to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship. Batista would end up regaining the gold at Unforgiven 2007, overcoming both The Great Khali and Rey Mysterio to win the title. That same night, The Undertaker made his return to the squared circle, meaning that his feud with the Animal could continue.

At WWE Cyber Sunday 2007, another chapter in the Batista and The Undertaker feud was scheduled to be written. With the World Heavyweight Championship on the line, these two veterans looked to take the fight to one another in the hopes of proving who was the true dominant force on SmackDown.

*At the actual Cyber Sunday event, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the special guest referee for the match. Like other matches featured here on the channel, SmackDown vs RAW 2009 unfortunately doesn't allow such a stipulation for the matches, so I wasn't able to include him here today.
