The Chromatic Highland Bagpipe Chanter.

Patrik Kraft and Herbert Bartmann have developed the Chromatic Highland Bagpipe Chanter which - with forked fingering and a suitable reed - allows you to play in addition to the usual notes of the traditional scale the semitones low A#, C♮ (C natural), D#, F♮ (F natural) and high G#. The Low G# is only possible by half-covering the bottom hole. Now additional scales are playable which add new sounds to pipe music.

The chanter is available in different keys. The one in this video is in Bb.

Die Schule für traditionelle Musik zeigt

Der Chromatische Highland Bagpipe Chanter.

Mit dem von Patrik Kraft und Herbert Bartmann entwickelten chromatischen Highland Bagpipe Chanter lassen sich mit Hilfe von Gabelgriffen und einem geeigneten Rohrblatt zusätzlich die Halbtöne low A#, C♮, D#, F♮ und high G# spielen. Das low G# ist nur durch Halbabdecken des low G Loches zu erreichen.

Der Chanter ist in verschiedenen Tonarten erhältlich. Der in diesem Video ist in Bb.
