Babilônia is on a hill located between the neighborhoods of Botafogo, Urca, Leme and Copacabana, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There are two favelas: Morro da Babilônia and Chapéu Mangueira.
They filmed some of the popular Brazilian film, "Tropa de Elite" inside the favela.
This is my very first time doing a favela tour and I blew my expectations away nor did I feel unsafe at anytime. Even though I felt safe during the tour, I do not recommend going into one of these neighborhoods alone without an official local guide.
