Return to Oz (1985) is a dark fantasy adventure that follows Dorothy as she returns to a ruined Oz and fights to restore it from the sinister forces that have taken over.

In this eerie and imaginative continuation of Dorothy’s story, young Dorothy Gale (Fairuza Balk) is transported back to Oz only to discover the Emerald City destroyed and her old friends turned to stone. Teaming up with new companions—including Tik-Tok, Jack Pumpkinhead, and the Gump—Dorothy embarks on a perilous quest to defeat Princess Mombi (Jean Marsh) and the rock-controlling Nome King (Nicol Williamson). A blend of whimsy and nightmare, the film follows her battle to restore Oz’s magic and reclaim hope for its enchanted citizens (also starring Piper Laurie, Matt Clark, and Brian Henson.)
