This video is quite long folks, but well worth the watch.
It's my first visit to Apedale Country Park in the fine borough of Newcastle under Lyme. It started off as a casual walkabout with our pet dog Millie in tow, as usual these days.
As I made way around the park I got a strong urge to push further on to find and view the Commerative Wheel which was put in place to celebrate and remember our local coal miners who laboured and toiled throughout their working lives to bring heat and power to our homes up until the local coal mines/pits were closed for good, mainly due to the introduction of a new Clean Air Act of 1993.
