Novelis is the world’s largest recycler of aluminum, and its teams rely on massive cranes to move heavy ingots across production. To decide whether a second crane was needed, engineers built an AnyLogic simulation that pushed the system to its limits.
The model tested crane capacity, throughput, and bottlenecks, and the results proved that the existing crane could meet demand with only minor adjustments. The presentation highlights how integration with NVIDIA Omniverse brought realistic 3D visuals that helped leadership align on strategy and avoid a costly investment.
