Morris debuts massive 1440-bushel air cart

Описание: Morris Equipment unveiled its largest-ever air cart at Ag in Motion, introducing a 1440 bushel model as part of its 10 Series lineup.

Garth Massie, speaking with RealAgriculture’s Amber Bell, highlighted the new unit’s upgraded capacity and key design improvements. "This cart, when fully loaded, is about 150,000 pounds," Massie said, noting that the sheer size required enhancements to braking and axle systems.

A multi-caliper braking system now allows for better stopping power, with a handheld emergency brake feature enabling operators to apply the cart’s brakes independently of the tractor. The front axle has also been reinforced and fitted with dual tires to handle added weight, Massie says. The four-tank configuration is designed to empty in sync, improving turnaround time and efficiency from fill to refill.

The design team placed a focus on reducing soil compaction by using large tires and maintaining low psi —19 in the rear and 16 in the front. Adjustments to hose routing and frame design also aim to support higher product flow rates, helping farmers meet increasing seeding demands, he says.
