In this video, I restore a mother and child painting, focusing on both conservation and aesthetic recovery.
The restoration process includes careful surface cleaning, the removal of an old, oxidized varnish, and the application of a new protective varnish to restore depth and color balance. Areas of paint loss were retouched using traditional restoration techniques, respecting the original artwork.
As part of the project, I also worked on the picture frame, carrying out selective gilding in areas where the original gold had deteriorated or was missing, helping to bring harmony back to the whole piece.
This is a complete restoration project, shown step by step, from the initial condition to the final result.
