Quality Metal Finishing Company - Rockford, St. Louis Area 1. Quality Metal Finishing Company was founded in 1947 and used to be a buffing shop in Rockford, IL. About 1950 Quality Metal took over the operations of Stevens manufacturing of Byron Illinois. Stevens was a supplier to Quality Metal and the management team of Quality Metal came in and revitalized Stevens, and took over operations. We have been here in Byron since 1950. Multiple expansions, being a privately held company on about 180,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing capacity, all under one roof. Die Casting thru Metal Finishing and Metal Plating.
