We went off trail at Dovestone Reservoir… and instantly regretted it.
What started as a scenic hike at Dovestone Reservoir turned into a white-out survival mission.
High winds.
Blizzard conditions.
Boggy moorland swallowing our boots.
Zero visibility.
We lost the trail.
Fell more times than we’d like to admit.
And had to fight our way back across exposed ground just to reach the views.
This wasn’t your typical “Sunday hike.”
This was freezing hands, soaked boots, and pushing through when turning back felt easier.
