Campaigners have signed an open letter calling for the prime minister to ban smacking children in England.
The letter follows calls from health experts and children's charities for a UK-wide ban.
Smacking is already prohibited in Wales and Scotland, but in England, the Children's Act allows for the practice in cases where it is "reasonable punishment".
