On February 9, 2001, the nuclear submarine USS Greeneville was conducting a demonstration for civilian VIPs in Hawaiian waters. What should have been a routine showcase turned into tragedy when the submarine collided with the Japanese training vessel Ehime Maru, killing 9 people - including 4 students who were only 17 years old.
