In Luke’s Gospel, we have a major reframing of leadership. Two big caesars are little more than a backdrop to the amazing thing God is doing in history.
Meanwhile, a poor, young, unmarried woman—who later is a refugee—becomes one of the most influential humans we know of. God is the protagonist of history.
If we want to be “leaders,” we are so as secondary, supporting cast. This should reframe how we navigate our callings to leadership.
