Mongla Port is a seaport located in the Khulna Division in southwestern Bangladesh. Although it is operated from Khulna metropolis, its location is in Mongla of Bagerhat district. It is located at the confluence of the Pashur River and the Mongla River in the Bay of Bengal, adjacent to the Sundarbans. The port was established in December 1950. Due to the depth and navigability of the Pashur river, any ship with a large cargo can easily enter the port of Mongla.

When the port was opened to foreign ships on December 11, 1950, a British merchant ship made its first anchor at the port. The port was shifted from Chalna to Mongla in 1954 as Mongla was more convenient for sea-going ships. Earlier it was known as Chalna Bandar.
