My first trip to Rangitoto Island was a fantastic adventure. The ferry ride over was a delightful start, with beautiful views of Auckland fading into the distance. Once on the island, I was immediately struck by its unique volcanic landscape. Hiking to the summit was a highlight—though the trail was a bit challenging, it was surrounded by stunning native bush and fascinating geological features. Reaching the top, the panoramic views of the Hauraki Gulf and surrounding islands were breathtaking. Exploring the historic lava caves was another memorable part of the trip, adding an element of exploration to the day. Overall, my first visit to Rangitoto was a perfect blend of adventure and natural beauty, leaving me eager to return!
