Over Father’s Day weekend, myself,
@RavennaRailfan4070, @overcastrails5587, and @gsrailfann5025
ventured down to Cumberland, Maryland to chase ex-C&O mallet 1309 on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. This weekend, the 1309 would wear an original Pennsylvania Railroad T1 whistle to help raise support for the T1 Trust, an organization currently reconstructing a full sized replica of a PRR Duplex. Supposedly, this whistle will be put on PRR 5550 when construction is complete.
This was my first time visiting the Western Maryland Scenic and I won’t be my last! The railroad is absolutely beautiful and chasing the train has its own set of challenges that add to the fun and really test your driving skills. It was a fun weekend of railfanning and fellowship with friends that I won’t soon forget! Filmed off iPhone 13.
