C-PTSD Research Shows WHY Repeated Criticism Shuts YOUR Voice Down 😳🧠

Описание: If YOU open your mouth to speak your truth… and nothing comes out, or it’s tiny and shaky… especially when setting a boundary or asking for what you need…

🧠 Prolonged emotional abuse, criticism, silence, and rage create sustained sympathetic activation.

In CPTSD from repeated relational trauma (unlike single-event PTSD), this wires deep tension in the throat and vocal area.

Your nervous system learned that speaking equals punishment or more pain, so it slams the “iron door” shut,
muteness or a lump in the throat becomes self-protective.

This pattern often ties to disturbances in self-organization: affect dysregulation and negative self-concept that make your voice feel silenced for decades, especially in emotionally absent or bullying family/relationship dynamics.

Your body wasn’t betraying you.
It was guarding your heart the only way it knew how.

Healing begins with safe reopening 🫶
Cross your arms in the butterfly hug (hands on opposite shoulders/upper chest).
Gently tap alternating sides.
Inhale through nose for 4, exhale through mouth with a hum for 8.
Whisper: “My voice is allowed to exist and be safe now.”
Repeat 1–2 minutes.

Feel the vibration in your throat.

This bilateral stimulation + humming helps release stored tension, supporting nervous system regulation as shown in somatic and EMDR-informed trauma practices.

I see how exhausting it is to feel silenced in your own body. You are safe to speak.
Your voice is coming home, one hum at a time.
I believe in you ❤️
