Описание: Johnny B. Goode is probably one of the most famous rock ‘n’ roll songs in history and it’s portrayal in classic movies such as “Back to the Future” only add to it’s mystique. From 1969 Elvis included in his live set list and the earlier versions are often a joy to behold.
However, with that distinctive guitar riff, the song will forever be synonymous with Chuck Berry and his version remains the definitive rendition. Throughout the period when Elvis was using it on stage, it was naturally used as a means to showcase the magnificent talents of his lead guitarist, James Burton.
From 1969 until 1974 it evolved from two verses, the guitar solo, the second verse repeated before the latter versions were the more straightforward verse, solo, second verse.
From 1975 however, when Elvis introduced the musicians’ solos into the show, “Johnny B. Goode” was reduced to a single verse and chorus with James Burton. These version always ran at barely a minute and so are not included in the compilation which only features full versions which were performed from 1969 until 1974.
