Let's talk about the Ralte language.

Ralte language
Ralte is an endangered indigenous language of Northeast India belonging to the Sino-Tibetan language family, within the Tibeto-Burman branch and the Kuki-Chin (Zo) group. It is traditionally associated with the Ralte people of Mizoram, especially areas north and east of Aizawl and historically around Champhai. Today, Ralte is believed to be actively used mainly by older adults, while younger generations overwhelmingly shift to Mizo (Lusei/Duhlian ṭawng), the dominant regional language used in education, administration, church, and media. Ralte is not taught in schools and lacks strong institutional support, which has accelerated language shift. Linguistically, it is closely related to other Kuki-Chin languages and is part of the broader Zo continuum spoken across parts of India and Myanmar.

Ralte people and culture
The Ralte are one of the major constituent tribes within the wider Mizo (Zo) ethnocultural group, alongside Lushei (Lusei), Hmar, Paite, and Pawi/Poi. Their ancestors likely migrated from the Yunnan region of China through present-day Myanmar into the Lushai Hills/Mizo Hills of Mizoram. Traditionally, Ralte society was based on slash-and-burn (jhum) agriculture, with a diet centered on rice and fish, reflecting an earlier semi-nomadic lifestyle. While the society is patriarchal, inheritance customarily goes to the youngest son, a notable feature shared with other Mizo groups. Clan identity, respect for elders, and bride-price marriages that reinforce inter-clan alliances are culturally important. Although older animistic beliefs and spirit traditions persist in memory and limited practice, the vast majority of Raltes today are Christian. In modern times, many have moved to towns and cities, working in government, education, medicine, and small businesses, while maintaining strong traditions of communal singing, storytelling, and enthusiasm for sports such as football and volleyball.
