They will push the soffit up and go right into your attic. If you cannot see this from ground level just hop on your roof and check it out!

Once you have figured out where the animals are getting in and the size of the holes, you will then have an idea of how large the animal is you're dealing with.

Next, go up in the attic and look for evidence...droppings, paw prints, tunneling in the insulation...sometimes you will even see them staring right back at you!

Now it's time to remove the animal(s). We always recommend hiring a professional but if you are looking to do it yourself there are a few ways to do it!

1. It is most common to find female raccoons in your attic because they are looking for a place to raise their young! In this case you will use the scent of a male to drive her out of the attic. If there are babies she will likely remove them and relocate!

2. If the male scent doesn't work, you will need to set traps outside and possibly have to remove the babies by hand. We absolutely recommend calling a professional for this!

After the animals are out you need to make sure you seal all of the gaps and holes they can use to get in!

Once the entry points are sealed it's time to clean up the attic!
