Our bucket-list trip in the spring of 2024. We walked the #caminodesantiago from Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. From Porto, it is about 240 kilometers (150 miles) and it took us 12 days to complete. Follow our adventures and experiences in this 12-episode documentary.
Today we walked from Caldas de Reis to Padrón.
The walk from Caldas de Reis to Padrón is a picturesque and historically rich segment of the Camino Portugués, covering approximately 19 kilometers.
Padrón is renowned for its connection to St. James. In the church of Santiago resides “el Pedrón” in which, according to the legend, the disciples of the apostle Santiago moored the boat that transported the mortal remains of the apostle once they arrived to the coasts of Padrón after sailing the river Ulla.
The Camino Portugues, also known as the Portuguese Way, is one of the various routes of the Camino de Santiago, a network of pilgrimage routes leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain.
