Yes, these two animals were used by M. Rosenberg to explain how NVC is different from the language of communication that most of us are taught. The giraffe represents the language based on empathy. It builds connections, fosters relationships and connects us with life. The Jackal symbolizes the language that kills connection with other people. Although it gives us a lot of information about what's going on inside us. Remember, it’s not that Jackal is bad and giraffe is good. Jackal, for example, can serve us to complete our goals. Or to let us vent emotions. It just does not necessarily contribute to building a relationship.
So why did Marshal choose these two animals?0
