Old Lady Kate Reacts 5: Tool - Invincible

Welcome to the fifth episode in the every-so-often series where I introduce my wife to music she's never listened to but I've loved for years. By any metric she isn't actually old, but we affectionately refer to the character that emerges upon being surprised by something as "Old Lady Kate." Given the fact that the series will probably surprise her once or twice in that way, we figured we'd just name the whole thing that.

And we're finishing up this duo of Tool tunes with our longest one yet (as evidenced by the runtime of this video), Invincible off the Fear Inoculum album. As you'll see, this one brought on frowny faces for both awesome musical riffs you can't help but get into as well as some things that really brought Old Lady Kate out to play.

As a reminder of my arbitrarily-created-yet-still-official format, while there are no shortage of tracks I can't wait to get her reaction to, a) we're only listening to one track per album at first, and b) yes, we will continue the 2 Tool / 1 other band model for the time being. I've got other stuff I'm excited to see how she responds to (and no, not all of it is Bad Religion (nor punk music, for that matter)).

In terms of audio, it's immediately pretty obvious that we don't have a genuine setup for videos, but I will try and get a better microphone situation at some point. That said, we did take the feedback from many viewers of the first episode and decided to implement "pause to talk" mode. Also we used a lyrics track instead of just the audio. Both made it so much better! Thank you all for the protips!
