David was raised in a Christian home. His father was an Episcopal priest. Even though his parish was High Church Anglican, he never had any thoughts of becoming a Catholic. Michele was brought up Catholic but drifted away from the Church because she was bored and didn’t feel that she fit in. David and Michele met while they were attending Oral Roberts University. Later they both entered the Charismatic Episcopal Church, where David was ordained. Their original motivation to begin to look at the Catholic Church was a growing disunity in their denomination, as well as its drift toward a more anti-Catholic position.
