Protests are escalating across Pak-occupied Kashmir, with demonstrators clashing with the Pakistani army. In Dadiyal, defiant locals on Palak bridge used their bare hands to push aside large containers placed by the army to block their path. The core of the unrest is a demand for basic human rights, with protesters saying they do not fear the consequences of their actions. "They say that they want basic human rights and if this is what they are deprived of then they don't fear the consequences." In response to the growing dissent in areas like Muzaffarabad and Kotli, authorities have reportedly used force, fired tear gas shells, and shut down mobile and internet services. The Shehbaz Sharif government is said to be sending a negotiation committee to Muzaffarabad to address the situation.
