A friend found out I was working on digitizing old VHS tapes and gave me a pile of tapes of prog rock shows he had recorded in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

This date is notable as by far the coldest day that ProgDay has ever experienced - the previous year the festival had nearly been cancelled by a late hurricane on Labor Day weekend, so in 2000 they moved it to October. It turned out to be much colder than anyone expected, especially on Sunday, so the festival was moved back to Labor Day the following year and has stayed there ever since.
Höyry-Kone almost had the dubious honor of being the last band to ever play ProgDay. After running it for six years, founder Peter Renfro had lost a lot of money on the festival so he announced that 2000 would be the last year. Fortunately, a group of volunteers stepped in and kept the festival going through some transitional years until it found a solid leadership group again.
