Seven weeks into its war with Ukraine, Moscow has announced the beginning of a new phase in the conflict. After spending days regrouping, Russian troops now appear to have launched a full-scale offensive along a 500-kilometer front in Ukraine's Donbas region. After suffering setbacks around Kyiv, the Kremlin declared its main goal to be the capture of the eastern territory, where Moscow-backed separatists have been fighting for power for years.
