I confess to a bias in this recommendation. I've always liked Two Bit da Vinci (Juan Garcia, Bream Velasquez, Ricky Roy). Is it the "Kojak"/Telly Savalas smooth pate thing? Probably not. Ricky and Telly are fire and ice. It must be "da Vinci's" intellectual art of persuasion. And the fact that we are nearing the anniversary of September 11th and my heart cannot absorb another suspected planned tragedy. So, today I choose to believe what Two-Bit has to say about Maui and the Lahaina fires because I need the structural support of reasoned reality and scientific objectivity. I need it. This determination not to venture onto the dark side of the moon is called "observation bias," meaning I refuse to see what I don't want to see, or . . . "I've-had-enough-and-I-just-can't-take-it-anymore." I'm sure you understand.
