The Mountain and the Beach by Scottish Artist, Douglas Roulston.

Описание: Douglas has always loved the mountains and coasts since his earliest memories of trips from Glasgow to the Scottish Highlands and Islands. He loves travelling on his mountain bike to these places, as he can get to remoter, wilder areas quicker and gets to take in a lot of scenery on the way. The different way the light moves across the beautiful Scottish landscape and the changing colours are inspiration for his art. Douglas created this movie to showcase the journey of his work.

Like the 19th Century Romantic artists he studied at University, Douglas is inspired to share his love for the magical places he continues to visit with a much wider audience, something that he sees as a privilege. It’s important for him to maintain a connection with these places, which often means long and arduous journeys to remote and inaccessible locations. A keen walker and mountain biker, he sees a direct corelation between the energy required to create an artwork and its true value, remaining passionate about bringing the sense of place and presence to everything he produces.

Douglas’s instantly recognisable works are characterised by stunning vistas, vivid colours, piercing rays of light, breaking clouds in stunning Highland skies and the universal presentation of places and moments where we all want to find ourselves.
