The Age’s story on at least a dozen of the 50 candidates for Victoria’s Voice to Parliament being aligned to Lidia Thorpe should be “compulsory reading” for “everybody who is thinking of voting yes,” says Menzies Research Centre’s Nick Cater.
“The idea that this Voice to Parliament is going to be apolitical … is just thrown out of the window when you read this article,” Mr Cater told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“The Voice to Parliament in Victoria is a hotbed of factionalism, and there is a huge faction called the Thorpe faction.”
