നാലാപ്പാട്ട് നാരായണ മേനോൻ വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻപ് പറഞ്ഞതിൽ ഒട്ടും പതിരില്ല എന്ന് കാലം നിത്യവും തെളിയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

തമിഴ്നാട്ടിൽ നിന്നൊരു കഥ. സ്ഥലം കോയമ്പത്തൂരിന് അടുത്ത് അപ്പനായിക്കൻപട്ടി. അവിടെ സ്വന്തമായി ഒരു തുണ്ട് ഭൂമിപോലും ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു കുടുംബം.ആ കുടുംബത്തിൽ ജനിച്ച വേലുമണി കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് പഠിച്ചു ബിരുദം നേടി.അധികം വൈകാതെ ഒരു ചെറിയ ജോലിയും കിട്ടി.
ജോലി ആയല്ലോ ഇനി കല്യാണം കഴിച്ചുകൂടെ എന്ന് കുടുംബം.സമ്മതം മൂളിയ വേലുമണി ഒരു കണ്ടീഷൻ വെച്ചു. കുട്ടി വെളുത്തതാവണം. അതിന് വേണ്ടിയാണ് ഇത്രയും കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് പഠിച്ചു ജോലി നേടിയത് തന്നെ. ആയിടെ ഒരു ആലോചന വന്നു ചേർന്നു. സ്റ്റേറ്റ് ബാങ്കിൽ നല്ല ശമ്പളമുള്ള ജോലിക്കാരി. പക്ഷേ, നിറം കറുപ്പ്. കാണാനും അത്ര പോരാ.
വേലുമണി ധർമ്മസങ്കടത്തിലായി. കല്യാണം നടന്നാൽ കുടുംബം രക്ഷപ്പെടും. അതോടെ തന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ മോഹവും തകരും. ഒടുവിൽ കുടുംബം വിജയിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ സുമതി വേലുമണിയുടെ ഭാര്യയായി.

പിന്നെ വേലുമണിക്ക് തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കേണ്ടി വന്നില്ല.
ഭർത്താവിന്റെ അനിയനെയും രണ്ട് അനിയത്തിമാരെയും പഠിപ്പിച്ചു നല്ല നിലയിൽ എത്തിച്ചതും സുമതി തന്നെ.

പിന്നീട് ഭർത്താവിനെ ബിസിനസ് ചെയ്യാൻ വേണ്ടി പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു. അതിന് വേണ്ടി തന്റെ അതുവരെയുള്ള സമ്പാദ്യം മുഴുവനും ചെലവഴിച്ചു.അങ്ങനെ 1996 ൽ വേലുമണി തൈറോകെയർ എന്ന പേരിൽ മുംബൈയിൽ ഒരു മെഡിക്കൽ ലബോട്ടറി തുടങ്ങി.രണ്ട് പേരും ജോലി രാജിവെച്ചു അതിന്റെ അമരക്കാരായി.
വെളുത്ത പെണ്ണിനെ കെട്ടാൻ മോഹിച്ചു കറുത്ത പെണ്ണിനെ കെട്ടേണ്ടി വന്നെങ്കിലും ആ പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ നന്മ കൊണ്ട് ജീവിതവിജയം നേടിയ വേലുമണിയുടെ കഥ നമ്മെ ഒരുപാട് പാഠങ്ങൾ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പാഠം, ശരീരത്തിന്റെ നിറത്തിലല്ല മനസ്സിന്റെ നന്മയിലാണ് കാര്യം എന്നതാണ്.
പരിശ്രമിച്ചാൽ എത്തിപ്പിടിക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തതായി ഒന്നുമില്ല എന്ന് വേലുമണിയുടെ ജീവിതം നമ്മോട് പറയുന്നു. അപ്പനായിക്കൻപട്ടിയിലെ ഒരു ചെറ്റക്കുടിലിൽ ജനിച്ചു ഭാര്യയുടെ അകമഴിഞ്ഞ സഹായത്തോടെ വലിയ ഒരു സ്ഥാപനം കെട്ടിപ്പടുത്ത കഥ ഏതൊരാളെയും കോരിത്തരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്. ഇരുത്തി ചിന്തിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്. അങ്ങേയറ്റം മോട്ടിവേഷൻ നൽകുന്നതാണ്.

വിജയിച്ചേ പറ്റൂ എന്ന് നോമ്പ് നോറ്റവർക്ക് മുൻപിൽ അവസരങ്ങൾ പലരൂപത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നു. അത് ചിലപ്പോൾ ഭാര്യയുടെ രൂപത്തിലും വന്നേക്കാം.
വിജയിയായ ആണിന്റെ പിന്നിൽ ഒരു സ്ത്രീ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും എന്ന പ്രമാണം നമുക്ക്‌ തിരുത്തി എഴുതാം :
"വിജയിയായ പുരുഷന്റെ മുന്നിലും ഒരു പെണ്ണുണ്ടായിരിക്കും ".
