February 2017. British Antarctic Survey has successfully relocated Halley VI Research Station to its new home on the Brunt Ice Shelf. It took 13 weeks to move the world's first fully relocatable research facility 23 km across the ice. The largest module (A module - living space) is seen here successfully making its way slowly to its new location on Brunt Ice Shelf.

ABOUT BRITISH ANTARCTIC SURVEY 🐧
The polar regions may be at the ends of the Earth, but what happens there affects us all.
British Antarctic Survey is working to uncover the secrets of our planet's frozen places. Our research highlights the fragility of the Earth’s polar regions, and what that means for our planet.
Our expertise spans the depths of the oceans to the inner edge of space. We've been living and working in the extremes of Antarctica and the Arctic for over 60 years. Our scientists discovered the hole in the ozone layer and identified key evidence for climate change in ancient ice!
We also operate the UK's polar research stations, aircraft and Royal Research Ship Sir David Attenborough, and collaborate with science communities around the world.
