Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos' runaway victory in the Philippines election has sparked protests in the capital. The return of the Marcos dynasty to the highest office in the land has triggered concerns about the family's notorious past. With 98% of eligible ballots counted, an unofficial tally shows Mr Marcos with 31 million votes -- double that of nearest rival Leni Robredo. Protesters have pointed to the fastest transmission of votes since 2010, as well as the consistent gap in the votes for Mr Marcos and Ms Robredo. The election body has put these down to upgraded equipment and systems, as well as the speedy transmission of results from various areas in the country.
