信主前，傅希秋原本長期陷入極度抑鬱與絕望，每天趴在桌上等待，人生灰暗無光。然而在一次生命的轉變中，他經歷了深刻的屬靈重生，從那一天起，世界彷彿煥然一新，甚至覺得「小鳥都在歌唱」。他突然對原本看似不可愛、背叛的人產生極大的憐憫，因為看見他們活在罪中何等可憐。
信主後，他幾乎沒有任何轉折，直接從基督徒成為傳道人，深知福音是關乎永生之道，如彼得所言：「主啊，祢有永生之道，我還跟從誰呢？」因此他無法閉口不傳，每天以傳福音為生活。
在校園裡，福音迅速傳開；後來到北京人大就讀，又見證高校學生靈魂的飢渴，大批人信主。他參與建立多個校園教會，也認識了後來守望教會、金天明牧師、金明日牧師等同工。這些年，他目睹也親身經歷家庭教會的興旺與打壓：自己與妻子被捕、軟禁、流亡美國。
即便在威斯敏斯特神學院讀書七年，他仍持續關切國內被抓捕、甚至判死刑的弟兄姐妹。希伯來書13:3成為他生命的銘記：「要記念被捆綁的人，好像與他們同受捆綁。」如今，他成立機構，與受逼迫的教會同行，盼望中國早日實現沒有栅欄的宗教自由天空，讓每一個人都能坦然敬拜真神。這是他從黑暗到光明、從絕望到盼望的見證，也是對中國教會屬靈財富與十字架道路的深刻體認。
Bob Fu once trapped in deep depression and despair, he spent his days lying on a desk in hopelessness. But through a profound spiritual transformation, his entire life changed overnight—he even felt “the little birds were singing.” Suddenly, he was filled with great compassion for those he once saw as unlovable or betraying, realizing how pitiable they were living in sin.
After coming to faith, he transitioned almost seamlessly from believer to preacher, convinced that the gospel is the way of eternal life. As Peter declared, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” He could no longer remain silent; sharing the gospel became his daily life.
On campus, the gospel spread rapidly. Later, while studying at Renmin University in Beijing, he witnessed the deep spiritual hunger among college students—many came to faith in waves. He helped establish campus fellowships at several universities and came to know key figures such as Pastors Jin Tianming and Jin Mingri of the Shouwang and Zion churches. Over the years, he saw both the flourishing and severe persecution of the house church movement. He and his wife were arrested, and he experienced house arrest and eventual exile to the United States.
Even during his seven years of study at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, he continued to advocate for persecuted brothers and sisters in China—some sentenced to death. Hebrews 13:3 became his guiding verse: “Remember those in prison as if you were in prison with them.” Today, through the organization he helped establish, he walks alongside the persecuted church, longing for the day when China will have a sky without fences and religious freedom for all. This is his testimony—from darkness to light, despair to hope—and a profound recognition of the spiritual riches and the theology of the cross in the Chinese church.
