We had spent a couple of nights in Haslar Marina located in Gosport, Portsmouth Harbour before sailing down through the Solent and on to Poole Quay Boat Haven in Poole, Dorset.
We had glorious weather however the wind was very light meaning we did have to motor for a lot of the way. However we were able to sail out of the Solent via The Needles Channel which meant we got a great view of the famous Needles chalk formation on the western coast of The Isle of Wight.
The Solent is one of the busiest shipping areas in the world but on this particular day it wasn't actually too bad.
We're onboard a Hunter Legend 356 sailboat.
