Описание: Quit India Movement was launched as a response to Cripps Mission proposal as the proposal was the last chance of any proper engagement between the British Government and the Indian National Congress.

This resolution was ratified by the All India Congress Working Committee on 8th August, 1942 at the Gowalia Tank, August Kranti Maidan and it was at this place that Gandhiji said that a mass civil disobedience movement would be started to push these Britishers outside the country.

Soon after sanctioning the Wardha Resolution even before the Quit India Movement started all major leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Abul Kalam Azad, Vallabhbhai Patel etc. were arrested on 9th August 1942. In a time period of 5 to 6 days all the major leaders of Indian National Congress were in the jail but this didn’t matter as the call for freeman/woman had already been given. Other leaders like Jayaprakash Narayan, Ram Manohar Lohia, Aruna Asaf Ali etc. took the charge.
