The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has taken a major step toward digitization by making the entire house tax payment process online. From now on, residents can use the Smart Kashi App to pay their dues quickly and efficiently, avoiding the need to stand in queues or visit municipal offices repeatedly.
From financial year 2024-25 onwards, house tax, sewerage, water charges, and other municipal taxes will all be payable via the app. Users can also view related documents and get updates about their submitted files and any movement of their applications directly on the app from the comfort of their homes.
To ensure a smooth digital transition, all relevant services will be integrated into the Smart Kashi App, making Varanasi one of the leading cities in municipal digital governance. Officials said this move will not only make the process transparent but also save time and effort for citizens.
