Meanwhile, Bangladesh is also engaging Pakistan after more than a decade. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar visited Dhaka, facing long-pending demands over the 1971 Liberation War, pre-independence assets, and repatriation of stranded Pakistanis. One agreement and five MoUs were signed, focusing on trade, investment, and energy cooperation.

The talks highlight Dhaka’s delicate balancing act — managing a tense border with India while reopening historical discussions with Pakistan.
