today im answering the number one question or comment i get on my behringer rd-8 mk2 videos, it's not the programming, it's not how to make techno. in this video, it's been a year since i posted the "1 Year Later Behringer RD-8" video, and lots of people have been curious how i get the RD-8 to sound this way even though it's an analog machine. so in this video i get to it. the free "Sounds of the RD-8" drumkit shown on the screen on in this video is linked here and contains all of the RD-8 sounds packaged digitally, great if you just want to test the sounds how it will work with your setup or play around with it in your DAW. here are also two bonus tips not mentioned in the video: try layering the RD-8 with samples the kick drum is super clean so you can try latering the rd-8's open hat or another sample from a DAW, also another key one is to focus on your drum programming and make sure you have space for each sound to breathe in your track. another tip is to make some things quiet to make other things loud, if everything is loud.. then nothing is loud comparatively, you know?
