Manny Cries - Deleted Scene from Swiss Army Man

Описание: Swiss Army Man is a 2016 movie written and directed by DANIELS, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. The film follows Hank (Paul Dano), a man stranded on an island and Manny (Daniel Radcliffe), a ‘magical’ corpse washed up on the beach. The story show how their friendship grows, what they teach each other, learn about themselves, and learn about people, society, love, and life all while trying to get home.

This is the second deleted scene that shows Hank and Manny spending more time in the woods than in the final cut. Here, Hank is wandering in search for food or any type of help and had planned to abandon the body he had been carrying with him. While out wandering he makes a complete loop to where he had abandoned the body and out of anger begins to blame the body for this. While I adore this scene and would’ve loved to see it in the movie, it was removed for continuity reasons and several of the lines and shots were used later on in the film. The scene which features the song “Hank Drinks” and where Manny “wakes up” in the cave actually uses some lines that were originally put in this scene. Not only were lines reused, Manny appearing to be “alive” for the first time, like he is here, occurs in the cave instead of in the woods. The concept of Manny crying here is quite interesting but would have lessened the impact of a scene that occurs near the last 30 minutes of the movie. That aforementioned scene, usually referred to as the “Treetops” scene also has a period of brief “flashbacks” to earlier in the movie, one of these flashbacks was most likely recorded right before/after recording this (deleted) scene because it shows Hank in the exact environment and wearing his clothes in the specific way he does here. While I understand why this was cut I am very happy this scene was recorded, it is beautiful on its own.
